Jamestown Parks and Recreation and Two Rivers Activity Center invites you to become a permanent part of the Meidinger Splash Park project by purchasing a personalized brick to border the main pathway leading to the park. Purchasing a brick is an easy way to leave a lasting family legacy on this project and at the same time donate to the Meidinger Splash Park.
The bricks will be installed in the Spring of 2021, and will create a beautiful border along the main pathway to honor our local citizens, family members, friends, veterans, pets, etc.
Buy your brick today and forever be a part of this project. Bricks are being sold for $1,000. Fill out the form below to reserve your brick today!
Jamestown Parks and Recreation Foundation received a pivotal donation towards our first goal in Phase II of the Two Rivers Activity Center (TRAC) Building Community Capital Campaign in October of 2018.
A longtime resident of Jamestown, Shirley Rolfs Meidinger, was intrigued by the role TRAC plays in the community and wanted to help support the outdoor water project.
Because of this donation, TRAC was able to move forward with the planning and design phase for the Splash Park.
“I have been proud of the good works by my husband, and feel that now with this gift, we together leave our legacy of giving for Jamestown” states Meidinger. Shirley and her husband, Roland, were active community members in Jamestown serving on many organization boards and service groups. Roland passed away June 4, 2006 and Shirley is currently living in Minnesota.
The ground breaking ceremony was held on August 26th at 4:30 for the Meidinger Splash Park. Rachel Liechty, Campaign Co-Chair welcomed everyone for attending this special event. Mindi Schmitz, JPRD Board of Commissioners Chairperson spoke as well as guest speaker Dr. Ken McDougal said a few words on behalf of the Shirley R. Meidinger. Amy Walters, TRAC Facility Manager finished the program and then the ground breaking took place! Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this day possible. The Splash Park is set to open in May, 2021.
