Wearing a Mask
We have had a lot of questions on if a mask is required in our facility. No, a mask is not required. If you prefer to wear one you are welcome to but we are not requiring them.
Age Requirements
Beginning on September 1stwe will lower the age requirement to be unattended in our facility back to 9 years of age. Parents, please talk to your children about being mindful of other people’s personal space. We have removed all of the seating areas and expect your child to be actively engaged in activity while in our facility. We have struggled in the past with TRAC being a place for youth to hang out on their phones or in our seating areas for hours at a time. Please be respectful of our request to limit time in the facility to 60-90 minutes. If your child is not actively using our facility or adhering to our physical distancing guidelines you will be notified and your child could be suspended from our facility.
Membership Cards
All members must have membership card to scan in. Members will not be allowed to enter if they do not have their membership card. You can take a picture of your card on your phone and use that to scan yourself in as a backup in case you forget your card. Staff will not manually look members up to “check” them in. Replacement cards are available for purchase for $5.00 plus.
Suspended Accounts
All accounts that have been placed on suspend due to COVID will become active on September 1st. If you would like to make any changes to your account we need them in writing before August 31, 2020. You can send an email to trac@jamestownparksandrec.comor stop by the front desk to fill out a form to change your membership.
Water Fountains
Our water fountains are available to fill water bottles only. They cannot be used to drink directly out of at this time. Please remember to bring a water bottle with you to our facility.
Adventure Space
We are working to re-establish the Adventure Space for families to use however we are limited on our availability as we are looking for staff to work in that space. If you are interested or know someone who is interested in working in our Adventure Space please have them apply online at https://tracjamestown.com/employment/. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on when we have enough staff to open this space!
Shared Equipment
Starting on September 1stwe will have a limited amount of shared equipment available in our gym and bubble (basketballs, volleyballs, footballs, tennis, etc). If you use our equipment please wipe them down with a disinfecting wipe before and after use. We will be disinfecting throughout the day. We still encourage you bring your own equipment. We also recommend you bring your own workout mat with you if you prefer to use one for stretching or core work. We will not have mats available for usage at this time.

We offer open play for Pickleball on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00-11:00am. Because of COVID-19 we ask you to call us at 952-8722 to reserve a court at no cost. We are allowing doubles play and we will provide equipment for you.
Zoom Group Fitness Codes
We are still offering group fitness classes online for members that prefer to workout at home. Please note these classes are subject to change. Visit our websitehttps://tracjamestown.com/group-fitness-schedule/for up to date schedule and new class information. Please contact the front desk for the Zoom Codes.
Birthday Parties
We are now hosting birthday parties! We are limiting the number of guests to 25 and you will get both rooms so you can fully spread out in the space. We will also only be offering one party per day. Start the process of booking a party by filling out our Facility Rental Application online at https://tracjamestown.com/parties-rentals/
Cleaning/Physical Distancing Protocols
If you have any questions or concerns about the safety protocols we are taking at TRAC or if you would like a one-on-one tour during a slow time of day to see the changes we have made in person we would be happy to assist you. We are proud of our facility and the safety procedures we have implemented to make this a safe and comfortable place to visit.
As we are working to reopen our facility we will be lifting some restrictions beginning on Monday, June 22nd:
Age Restrictions:
We will be reducing the age limit from 14 to 12 that requires a parent or guardian to be in attendance for supervision. This means that children 12 years old and up can attend TRAC without a supervisor as long as they follow the guidelines and respect TRAC staff. We will be taking a zero-tolerance approach to this and will ask anyone that does not follow the guidelines to leave the facility. Youth under the age of 12 are allowed in the facility, they just need a parent/guarding actively supervising.
Payments:
All payment types will be accepted. Cash, check and credit card.
Gym/Bubble Play:
We will allow small group play in the gym and bubble spaces. The northeast court will be unavailable due to group fitness classes being held in that space. Please continue to be mindful of others using the gym/bubble spaces. You must continue to provide your own equipment.
Pool:
Water exercise classes are back! Classes are taking place Monday – Thursday morning in the pool. Please see the complete group fitness schedule and sign up online at https://tracjamestown.com/group-fitness-schedule/. We are looking at fully opening our pool in early July. We are excited to offer the big slides, play structure and have more recreational swim opportunities for the community. Stay tuned for more information to come!
Membership Suspensions:
If you had previously placed your membership on suspend and would like it reactivated we can do that at any time. We can reactivate your membership over the phone by calling 701-952-8722 or stop by the TRAC front desk.
Thank you for your patience during this reopening process. We are excited to see more people in the facility and thank everyone for doing their part to keep the facility safe.
Membership:
Beginning June 1 we will accept day pass and guest pass users. Members must have membership card to enter. If card has been misplaced the member will need to purchase a new one in order to use the facility.
We encourage users to limit their time at the facility to 60-90 minutes.
Membership fees will be charged for the month of June on June 1, 2020.
Facility Hours of Operation:
Monday-Friday 5:00am-8:00pm, Saturday 5:00am-6:00pm, Sunday closed
Age restrictions:
In order to ensure compliance with new procedures and deter social gatherings anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to enter the facility.
Areas/Activities Open:
Areas/Activities Closed
We have had about 2 weeks since we first reopened the doors at TRAC under the ND SMART RESTART protocol. It has been wonderful to have activity back in the building and I would like to say thank you to everyone that has come back to TRAC and followed the new guidelines. It has been a smooth transition and we look forward to continue to offer additional activities as we are allowed. A couple of changes that we would like to share with you at this time.
Age Restrictions
Beginning on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 we will be reducing the age limit from 16 to 14 that requires a parent or guardian to be in attendance for supervision. This means that children 14 years old and up can attend TRAC without a supervisor as long as they follow the guidelines and respect TRAC staff. We will be taking a zero-tolerance approach to this and will ask anyone that does not follow the guidelines to leave the facility.
Bubble Usage
We will be opening the bubble for usage beginning Tuesday, May 19, 2020 for the following activities only and with these guidelines;
Activities:
Party in the Parking Lot (at a distance)!
Our group exercise team is working to offer classes outdoors and are targeting a kick-off for this on Wednesday afternoon May 20th. Watch our group exercise schedule on the website and our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram for more information. This will require participants to maintain physical distance and not gather in groups.
Anticipated for June 1, 2020
We are planning to welcome our group exercise classes back into the building beginning June 1st. We will continue to offer the option for members to participate online but also allow members to come back and participate in person. There will be new guidelines developed for the classes as well and shared in the future. These guidelines will include designated spaces for individuals to exercise in, no sharing of equipment, staff will disinfect equipment before and after every class, and possibly the need to pre-register and limit in person participants.
We have had many questions about when the pool will open. At this point we are not allowed to open the pool. We have been in contact with our public health department and they have shared that they are working with others across the state to develop guidelines for opening pools. We are looking forward to getting back in the water and have a plan for when we are allowed to do so.
Thank you for your patience as we work through this reopening process.
Jamestown Parks and Recreation Board of Commissioners met on Monday afternoon and approved a reopening plan for Two Rivers Activity Center and the development of guidelines for reopening Bollinger Tennis Courts. Other Considerations:
ND Governor Burgum announced yesterday that North Dakota will allow fitness centers to reopen in May. We will be having a Board Meeting on Monday, May 4th to discuss our reopening plan and hopefully get approval to open soon. We are excited to reopen when we are able to provide a safe environment for our members and staff.
Reopening the facility within the ND Smart Restart Guidelines will be complex and require many new procedures and processes. We will update our website and Facebook page as well as contact our members via email with updates on our reopening plan as soon as it is ready. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Dear Two Rivers Activity Center Members,
What a month it has been! As we begin the month and are faced with more uncertainty in the future, I wanted to take a moment to share the status of programming at TRAC and answer common questions we have been fielding.
Staffing
TRAC has on average 130 part- and full-time employees. All full-time employees have continued to work during the closure. Many of our part time employees are students who have moved back home and are now finishing school via distance learning. We were able to provide limited opportunities for our part time staff to complete cleaning and disinfecting tasks however at this point we no longer have work for them to complete. Allie is continuing to staff the Guest Service department Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30. You can reach her by calling 952-8722 or emailing guestservices@jamestownparksandrec.com Please leave a message if she is not available to take your call. We check messages throughout the day and will reply as soon as possible.
OnTRAC Learning Center
We are continuing to serve families in our community by providing Pre School and care to School Age children. On March 16 and 17 we closed the center to deep clean and disinfect all spaces, equipment, and supplies. On March 18 we reopened and have been implementing modified operating practices such as smaller group sizes (10 or less), health screening at drop off and throughout the day, modified meal and play practices, and an increased focus on hygiene and safety practices. The health and safety of children in our care and our staff has always been our top priority and will continue to be throughout this pandemic.
On Monday March 30, 2020 OnTRAC Learning Center began to participate in the Childcare Emergency Operations Program (CEOG) through the ND Department of Human Services. This program provides OnTRAC Learning Center with the opportunity to not require full tuition payment from families whose child is not currently attending and allows us to care for additional children 3 years old-5thgrade with priority given to families working in essential services such as healthcare, safety, and lifeline jobs. In addition, we will partner with Jamestown Public Schools to facilitate the distance education requirements for each child in our care.
Please contact Tammy Mewes, OnTRAC Learning Center Director at tammy@jamestownparksandrec.com or 701-952-8723 to learn more about the program.
Membership and Rentals
Policies and procedures are currently being developed to accommodate our members regarding our program fees, facility rentals and facility memberships. We will NOT be auto withdrawing April membership fees. All memberships at TRAC have been put on suspend until we know when we are opening. When we have more information regarding this, we will give everyone appropriate notice to make changes to their memberships. All programming and rentals during this time will be credited to accounts or refunded. We will be in contact with anyone who has reservations during the time of our closure as soon as we know more. Please allow 30 days from the date of reopening for processing. As always, we will do our best to accommodate all our users in the fairest ways possible.
Programming
The Wellness and Group Exercise department has been working above and beyond the last few weeks to modify their programs and provide opportunities for our community members to stay physically active and healthy during this stressful time. Please visit our website to find at home workouts, relaxation activities, healthy recipes and many more resources. In addition, we have begun to offer live interactive exercise sessions with our instructors via Zoom. This week we have 20 classes on the schedule. You can find the schedule and the Zoom links to connect to the classes here https://tracjamestown.com/group-fitness-schedule/
Continue to check our website often for new and fun ideas that our team is developing to support our community during this challenging time.
Donations
I have heard from many of you that you wish to continue to support TRAC and our work to create healthy opportunities for our community during the shut down by offering your monthly membership fees as a donation, please click here. We appreciate you and feel honored that you value our role in the community. We will continue to work to meet our mission each and every day.
I miss the hustle and bustle throughout the building. I miss seeing and connecting with you all each day. I look forward to the time when we can re-open our doors and continue to serve you all. Until then, stay active, safe and healthy.
Sincerely,
Amy Walters
